Giving Thanks for Little Sisters

Hannah came to visit me for Thanksgiving. She made an interesting experiment out of apples and sugar, calling it A Crisp. It actually only looked like the bottom of my shoe after turning the compost pile. It tasted very good.

I'm not sure I spent enough time giving thanks this year. Even with all of my favorite friends and lots of family around me the whole weekend, I didn't really stop to realize how lucky I am until we all slid apart into our normal lives again.

Hannah left me her hair straightener to remember her by, though. And I have my ears pierced after an afternoon at the crazy mall. So, at least I have tokens to remember the weekend...

Happy Birthday

hi kate!
happy birthday!
i was trying to think of a birthday present for you and kept finding myself thinking about all the projects i like to actually do with you. i like making puppet shows, drawing pictures for each other, cooking together...
anyway, i had an idea to start a blog. i'm not sure if you've ever read a blog. they are journals on the internet that let other people know what you are thinking. i thought about how many people live in the space between maine and oregon and i wondered if we could share some of the thoughts we have with them.

maybe you could start our blog out by telling everyone what you did for your birthday.
love,
amy
